air source heat pumps

Air source heat pumps are a cost-effective and environmentally friendly heating/cooling solution for your home or business. Air source heat pumps harness the power of the natural air around us, providing a sustainable alternative to traditional heating systems that rely on fossil fuels.

How do Air Source Heat Pumps work?

Heat pumps use a process called refrigeration to move heat energy from one place to another. In the winter, a heat pump extracts heat from the outside air, compresses it, and then releases it inside your home. In the summer, it reverses the process, extracting heat from inside your home and releasing it outside.

Heat pumps are much more efficient than traditional heating and cooling systems, as they use electricity to move heat instead of burning fuel to generate it.

Air source heat pumps offer numerous benefits for homeowners and businesses, including:

  • Can used for both heating and cooling

  • Increased air quality

  • Can provide savings on energy bills

  • Low maintenance and easy to install

  • Can be used in cold climates

  • Environmentally friendly  - reduced emissions

  • Can be used as an alternative to fossil fuels

  • Can be used in conjunction with ground-source heat pumps for even greater energy efficiency

Installing an air source heat pump can increase the value of your property. With more and more people prioritizing energy efficiency and sustainability, an air source heat pump can be a selling point for prospective buyers.

Government Incentives

The government offers financial incentives for homeowners and businesses to install air source heat pumps. You may be eligible for a grant or other financial assistance, which can help offset the cost of installation.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)

The BUS gives the homeowner more flexibility with the installation of an air source heat pump system as the payment is made in full on completion of the installation rather than over 7 years as it was with the old scheme.

The BUS grant payments are applied for through the installer. The current payment from the Government is £5000.00 for an ASHP system.
